As per Shiva Purana, Maha Shiva in time before time sermon a mantra of His form, the first word originated from Maha Shiva was Onkar (AUM or ॐ), which is the realization of Shiva form,
Onkar is reader and I am the voice, this mantra is my eternal form and my existence, from my north-facing originated A (Akaar), from west facing originated U (Ukaar), from south-facing originated M (Makaar), from east-facing originated the Dot (:) and from center-facing originated the sound or voice or symphony of AUM (Naad), From these five elements gave birth of Onkar and expanded the sound to universe, all these five elements in oneness became the sound AUM or ॐ and become one word of eternity, This mantra is realization of Shiva and Shakti, from this only arise the Panchakshari mantra (Aum Namah Shivaya or ऊं नम: शिवाय) and is a realization of my complete form,
A is a representation of created universe, U is a representation of vibrations that preserve and hold the universe while M is a representation of destructive energy or vibration, the end is new beginning and the dot are transition to that beginning, Chanting Onkar everyday will keep reminding and realizing you of Me and My existence in you, it is a eternal vibration which manifested everything, it is generally chanted three times a day syncing three manifesting elements or universe that is mind,body and soul, The time to chant is morning after and evening, and if we chant the universal sound AUM three times a day our three universe sync creating vibrations and energy which not only resonate health but overall harmony and eternal bliss, it is a sound of core or root of creation,
